This book is love. She met her second husband, Michael “Mike” McNaught, while working as an assistant director for a film crew, working on a movie for a General Motors division. I always wished for movies to be made out of her HRs’. I promise you I’m NOT doing it on purpose. This started out promising. I fell in love with these characters and I’m sad to see them go. As for Jennifer, I had mixed feelings about her throughout the book – sometimes I wanted to hug her, sometimes I wanted to scream at her – but I ended up understanding and loving her too.
When that wasn’t granted, she was left with no other choice but to attempt escape So the other night, I was having a little trouble sleeping and my ipad was downstairs… so I picked up this book. For me at least that’s what it felt like here.
I did love the part where she ran out to the field And this is just mere days after discovering she loves her husband and claiming to trust him. He has a f Jennifer and Royce are at war with each other, well, technically their countries are. There are some great characters in the story. Unlike the typical Regency, “a light romp with no sex,” her novels tended to be “intensely sensual and witty. I’m beginning to understand that this is a huge pet peeve for me, so I’m going to avoid it from now on.
And he almost never lost a battle.

What made it mccnaught 4? From beginning to end I wanted more of these two. By the end of the book, I really couldn’t stand her. At some point the 2 are forced wesstmoreland marry as it always is in romance novels. Who wouldn’t run away? What do I know? Same grievances I had with Paradise I ran into in here, the amount of anxiety, anger, and frustration I experienced while reading this just colored my opinion of the whole story and unfortunately the characters too.
This historical romance sure didn’t feel historical to me.
I read this book many years ago, and I had this on my list to re read, and since my library didn’t have it any longer, I decided I would need to buy it and well worth it in the end!!
